- Jamberoo Action Park
You may have heard of Jamberoo Action Park, where you control the action! Located in the area of Jamberoo, a 20-minute drive down the South Coast from Wollongong and just over an hour from Sydney. It is quite isolated as the Jamberoo area is mostly surrounded by farmlands.
There are some world-class rides and attractions within the recreational park. This family owned and operated water theme park has been in operation for the past forty or so years. Opened in 1974, Jamberoo Action Park has been a favourite among locals ever since.
It’s primarily a water park, so bring your sunscreen, swimmers and a towel. The cost is quite reasonable for your average action park. Much less expensive than any of the big four up in Queensland. It is similar to Wet ‘N’ Wild as in there is a range of water-based rides that you and your family can choose from. There are some height restrictions for a few of the more advanced rides such as the Funnel Web and the Jump Rock, but there is a range of rides and activities for a younger audience too.
There are a few rides that do not incorporate water, like the Bobsled. Stationed atop a small hill at the back of the park, the Bobsled offers incredible scenic views. You will need enclosed shoes for this one so keep them handy in your bag. You will also need sunscreen, a hat and other sun protection to avoid the adverse effects of the Australian sun and sunburn.
Jamberoo Action Park is open from early Spring until early Autumn. The website is loaded with all the information from opening hours, ride details, height restrictions, dive-in movies, park map and more.
The Eye Before The Storm Ride
