Yea, yea I know their are no such things as "We are proud of the Jets, they fought a tough battle", or "they should of won" but hey, it is rough going back to back with the Patriots and then the Ravens. But this team did a decent job crawling back into it in the 4th quarter, and I though Clemens did a hell of a job. To get your first starting nod against the Ravens and look decent doing it in the 4th quarter isn't the easiest thing in the world. But this is the real world, and the Jets are 0-2, but they do have a much easier schedule in the upcoming weeks, and through 5 games I can definitely see a record of 3-2, winning against Miami, Buffalo, and the NY Giants. But anyway, onto the analysis:

The Offense: The entire game wasn't much to talk about, but there were some good things to learn from the game. Clemens might not have the smarts to that of Chad Pennington, but he has other intangibles that will make him a good QB. His arm is a gun, and you could see that on the come back routes to the receivers. How many of those passes have you seen picked off by the CB jumping the route of a Chad Pennington ball. The offensive line looked bad again, giving up 4 sacks yesterday, adding up to a whopping 9 for the early season. Thomas Jones looked better, and will get better every week. The receivers were phenomenal, with Cotchery breaking his single game record with 7 grabs for 165 yards as well as Coles with 6 and 57 yds. The more you run and the earlier you run will open up more throwing lanes as the game progresses...One question? where was Leon Washington?? If he is the supposed "playmaker", then get him on the field!

The Defense: This is what kills me the most about the Jets team. They make Kyle Boller...yes that Kyle Boller, look like a good quarterback yesterday. Where is the pressure? 0 sacks in 2 games, zero takeaways in 2 games..the Jets will lose every game this season if they don't get any pressure. Isn't that what good teams do like The Bears, Patriots, Steelers, Colts. Defenders can only cover for about 4-6 seconds before the offensive player becomes open. In the last 2 games they have given the opposing QB (Brady and Boller) all day. Any QB that has time like that will rip your team apart. Kenyon Coleman looks stout in the run game, but can he get some pressure. Barrett has sucked, and get's picked on all game. Bob Sutton needs to dial up a blitz before he has to dial up a new team because he sucks as a coordinator.Next.

The Special Teams: Really can't say much about them either, giving up another long run ro set up the Ravens with good field position. Justin Miller get's carried off the field, that looks good. Westhoff is the last person I though you would have to worry about, but I'm not too worried, he will get it fixed.

After this barrage of insults, let me just reiterate one little thing. It is a 16 game season. They have only played 2 games. They played against the Patriots, who I think is the best team in the league, and the Ravens, who went 13-3 last year. So give it time people, things will work out just fine. Don't forget the Bills and Dolphins are also 0-2.
