![]() | Pennington not rehabbing this offseason Of all the great things going on in Jetland today, nothing is better than hearing that your starting QB for the first time in 2 straight offseason's is not rehabbing a part of their body. Penny is healthy, and enjoying his offseason. This is an interesting article from Andrew at the herald-dispatch. Here is some of the article.
Following two right shoulder surgeries in as many years, imagine Pennington's pleasure in what has been a mundane spring. Like many New York Jets teammates, he's quietly working toward season's start, while enjoying family time and tending to charitable ventures. Pennington is a class act and even during his "vacation period" he is still doing charity work and talking at events.
I'm just trying to stay grounded and stay focused because it is the first time in a while that I've been able to go through an offseason without an injury," said Pennington, entering his eighth NFL season. "I'm not having to deal with circumstances that I really can't control. "I feel like a normal athlete, training and preparing."
Pennington, first-year coach Eric Mangini and the Jets overachieved in 2006, advancing to the AFC Playoffs. New York enters this season as a legitimate postseason contender, and Pennington already has been named as the unquestioned starter behind center. Since I first saw Pennington in that miracle 2002 season, I knew Chad was going to win a Superbowl. I know he can't throw long or hard but that's not needed with a well-rounded team. He is turning 30 and is finally learning what it takes to be good. He is healthy now and is getting the weight's up and learning how to throw the ball with more than his wounded arm. I'm gonna pull a Joe Namath, and make a guarantee...."Pennington will win a super bowl before it is all said and done."
Enjoy your day at Jetland! |
