3 vs. 13

Haha every week I feel like I am typing the same thing, but for some reason today, I am in a good mood. I saw a small, slight glimpse of the future, and I feel giddy.

This is a re-building year, and Mangini is not retarded, nor is the coaching staff, or the GM. Everybody including myself is so quick to put the blame on people and say "oh they stink". Look at Bill Parcells, he stunk his first few years, got his players in place, and they won Super Bowls with the Giants. Mangini is setting up his own team. Herm Edwards got lucky and got to coach all the players Parcells drafted. This is Mangini's team and he is doing it his way, and if the players have a problem, then bye-bye. Brick, Mangold, Washington, Smith, Revis, and Harris are the start of that.

Schottenheimer is not going to get fired because he can't coordinate, he is coordinating to his players abilities, and that includes Pennington. I owe an apology to the ill-fated Paul Hackett, as he had to deal with Pennington and not being able to stretch the field.

This is not the west coast offense anymore, and Schotty wants to run a spread offense, so I am excited to see what Clemens can do. And guess what, if he is not the future, then the Jets are probably going to have a top 5 draft pick, then draft a QB, but the Jets did not invest a 2nd rounder on a career backup. (at least I hope) Don't get me started on who to take with the top 5 draft pick, that is a whole nother blog post.

So Thomas Jones can run the ball, but it doesn't help when the defense stacks 8 and forces to throw. Thomas Jones will never see 25-30 carries because the defense knows what Chad can do. THIS IS NOT ONLY A CHAD BASHING. The defense is not bred for a 3-4, and their will be a fire sale in the off-season. Get players that fit a 3-4 (ala David Harris) and that is what you build on. Remember this is re-building, so Eric Mangini the contractor is not going to build a house out of ply-wood when he needs oak.

I am not even going to grade the Jets because it sucked yesterday. The mustered a field goal. Their secondary stinks like Poteat and Barrett, and Dyson is no where to be seen. I am cool with it and so should you Jet fans.

If anybody thought last year was the truth then you don't watch football. They played an easy schedule, so blemishes can hide. With a top 4 hardest schedule, all the blemishes show. Every team goes through it, so let it soak and drink it in when it becomes a great wine.

Keep an eye on the college level, the Jets could use a Darren McFadden at RB, and Frank Okam, the massive DT for Texas. And please Jet fans, stop bashing the organization, they know what they are doing because they are professionals. Mr. Joey Bagadonuts from Staten Island, shut up and stop calling 1050 AM with your knowledge, because you can't be an arm-chair GM like every other idiot calling for Tangini's (Tannenbaum and Mangini mixture) head. Every new coach can't step in and win a championship in New York. If you can't deal with it, watch the Giants, or cheer for the Sox...or maybe read a book on how to build a house, you would then know it is not worth sh!t if it is built by a bad contractor, or crappy materials and woods.
